Saturday, November 4
Cal Poly Choirs' "Debut" Concert
8 p.m., Cohan Center

COME AND MEET OUR 2006-2007 CHOIRS

The Cal Poly Choirs open their 2006-07 season with a wide variety of exceptional choral works. Conducted by Dr. Thomas Davies, this "debut performance" will feature PolyPhonics The University Singers, and the Early Music Ensemble performing masterworks from 1500 to the present. In addition, Cal Poly's highly entertaining barbershop quartets will perform, as well as outstanding student soloists.

Cal Poly Choirs' "A Christmas Celebration"
8 p.m., Cohan Center

BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY FOR THIS ALWAYS SOLD OUT SEASONAL FAVORITE!

Ring in the holidays with the Cal Poly Choirs as they present their annual holiday gift spectacular, "A Christmas Celebration." Joining PolyPhonics and The University Singers will be the Cal Poly Brass Ensemble conducted by Keith Snell. Holiday favorites and a carol sing-a-long will put you into the spirit of the season!

Cal Poly Early Music Ensemble
8 p.m., Pavilion, Cohan Center

J. S. Bach: "The Hunting Cantata" (Was mir behagt, ist nur die muntre Jagd), BWV 208

The Early Music Ensemble presents J.S. Bach's delightful and most popular secular cantata.   Dr. Thomas Davies will present brief musical highlights in a lecture demonstration form before the work is performed.

Cal Poly Choirs' Winter Concert
"Our Worlds Music"
Dr. Kenneth S. Habib, guest conductor/performer
8 p.m., Cohan Center

Titled "Our World's Music", PolyPhonics, The University Singers, and the Early Music Ensemble will feature pieces from various corners of our world. Highlighted will be selections from the Middle East, assisted by Dr. Kenneth S. Habib, professor of Ethnomusicology at Cal Poly.

Cuesta Master Chorale and the Cal Poly Choirs

Ralph Vaughan Williams: "Dona nobis pacem"

William Walton: "Belshazzar's Feast"

The Cal Poly Choirs join the 90 voice Cuesta Master Chorale in a performance of two masterworks by two giants of the English 20th Century. Dr. Thomas Davies conducts over 200 choral and instrumental musicians.

(This concert is not a part of our Cal Poly Music Department Package. Sponsored by Cuesta College, individual tickets may be purchased by calling the PAC ticket office)

Cal Poly Early Music Ensemble

8 p.m. Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa

"Music of Spain and the New World"

The Cal Poly Early Music Ensemble performs great works from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries from the "old world" (Spain) and the "new world" (California and Mexico). Performed in a most appropriate venue, Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa.
